LSC Open day 24.07.22

The City of Liverpool Scooter Club, would like to thank all those who joined us for our Grand rideout and attended afterwards at our Open day at the Alder Sports Club. The weather forecast wasn’t great but still, a lot of you made the journey from some long distances. We tried to get around as many of you as possible to thank you personally for supporting not only our club, but the North Wales and Borders Alliance, as our event was on the Alliance calendar. It was also nice to see some regular faces.
At our annual event, not only do we present the usual trophies ( and well done to everyone who won one! ) we also present the ‘James Raybould Trophy’. This is in memory of Jimmy, one of our members who passed away far too early through illness and a Trophy is presented in his memory to somebody who embraces the spirit of scootering in some way. This year, we decided to present the trophy to Birkenhead Cloud 9 Scooter Club as a whole as they are ever present at scooter events and always turn out in great numbers. They raise a lot of money for charity and immediately answer the call if an individual or organisation needs help. Dave Marble Johnson has personally won this trophy in the past for his organisational skills, but it’s time to recognise all the Cloud 9 members for the sterling work they do. Congratulations and well done to all at Cloud 9!
Finally, we would like to thank all the members of our club who helped to put the day on. Ernie Lundstrom of course, without whom there may not be a Liverpool Scooter Club, Davey Bell for the music, Ian Morgan and Dave ‘two sticks’ on the burger stall ( the profits from which will be added to the charity pot ) and all who donated prizes for the raffle and auction. Not forgetting also, the hospitality afforded to us by Paul and his staff at the Alder Club.

We do apologise if we’ve left anyone out. We also appreciate that many of you had to leave early as the weather turned a bit wet. Nonetheless, we thank you again for coming and hope you all had a safe journey home. See you next year when we’ll do it all again!
