It’s 11 o’clock Saturday morning as I set off on my little LML 125 for the ride to the Snowdonia Scooter Rally in Porthmadog, arriving just before midday. About a 100 scooters were gathered outside the Ganolfan centre on the edge of the town. I said my hello’s to everyone (whilst handing out flyers for our own summer party) At 12.30 it’was time for the short ride out to Dylans in Criccieth . The 60 scooters parked along the boardwalk on the front made an impressive sight. When everyone had been fed and watered the ride back to Porthmadog left at about 14.00. Back at the Ganolfan everyone was mingling around looking at the few stalls that were there. Everyone seemed to be having a good time enjoying the good weather and the atmosphere. I had a good chat with Mike Phoenix while he was checking out the electronic ignition on a Vespa PX. By 16:00 everyone had all but gone to get some food and to get ready for the night do. So I set off for my ride back to Llanrwst in the Conwy Valley. The little Lml had done me proud with a 80 mile round trip through the Llechwedd slate mines and the Gwydir forest with some really big hills to contend with.
Shame I couldn’t stay for the night do. Still there’s always next year.
Ernie.
