Goodbye & good luck to ‘Alfonso’

Last month ( July 2018 ),  Liverpool Scooter Club was contacted by the organisers of the Vintage Fair at the Royal Albert Dock Liverpool and asked if we would like to display some vintage scooters at their event. The scooters present in the display attracted a lot of interest amongst the visitors, some having their photographs taken on the machines, while others were happy to chat about the scooters that they once owned. A young Italian student approached us by the name of Alfonso Tipaldi.

Alfonso Tipaldi – a Vespa rider form Bologna!

Alfonso had studied for a Degree in agriculture in Italy and was now studying English language at Liverpool University to enhance his career prospects. He told us that he rides a Vespa P-range back home in Bologna. I invited him to come along to the Cambridge pub where we meet. Alfonso was living quite near to the pub in student accommodation, so he quickly became a regular attender at the club and even got several buses to come to our open day at the Alder Club.

Last night ( Thursday 23rd of August 2018 ) Alfonso informed us that he would be returning home to Italy on Saturday as he had now completed his studies. We were all sorry that he was leaving us, but we gave him a club shirt and a number of other gifts to remember us by. Alfonso’s ambition is to work for the Yellow Tail wine producing company in Australia. We’d like to thank Alfonso for joining us at the club and for his friendship. We all wish him well for his future and hope that he lands his dream job.

Goodbye and good luck Alfonso from us all at LSC, we know you’ll keep in touch!

Geoff.
