First LSC organised rideout after the first National Covid19 lockdown 2020
Rideout to Blakemere Sunday 2nd August 2020
On a bright sunny slightly blustery morning 25 of us set off from Morrisons supermarket car park in Speke. A nice bimble along the Ford road over the Runcorn bridge and in to Frodsham to meet up with another couple of lads. We then travelled up the B5152 through to Delamere and then left onto the A56 at Oakmere towards Blakemere Village, passing a very busy J&S Accessories on the way! At the last major crossroad before the Village Alan Jones from C9 did his version of David Bailey. (Say no more). On arriving at Blakemere village we were greeted by Richie Lunt and friend, they had made their way there thinking they had missed us. We all agreed to have about an hour and a half to explore the village and take some refreshments. Thankfully it was not too busy. Once everyone had chilled out and had a good gab we regathered and agreed to stop off at the Cheshire Cheese pub in Frodsham returning via Cuddington, Weaverham and along the B5153. As we approached the main street in Frodsham, we met Peter Cogley and his wife Donna (Widnes SC) coming up the hill on their Lambretta’s. So it was then onto the pub for a refreshing pint and a chat in the beer garden. On setting off from the pub everyone said their goodbye’s and made their way home.
A great day was had by all! Many thanks to all of the Scooterists from the other clubs , who made the effort to join us on what was a great day. (the only breakdown of the day was that Chris Oxley’s scooter threw a woodruff key and had to be recovered)
