New Blood Bike Unveiling 31.05.24

On the afternoon of Friday 31st May, Ernie and I attended the unveiling of the new Merseyside and Cheshire areas ‘Blood Bike’ at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. Some of the Blood Bike riders are also members of the Bike Marshals team who keep us all safe on the Easter and Christmas Two Wheeled Support rideouts to the Hospital. On behalf of the Bike Marshals and all those who support the rideouts to the Hospital, I was able to arrange a donation towards this new bike. It was paid for predominantly by the Freemasons in our area.

If you’re arranging any functions where you will be raising money for charity, please bear these guys in mind. The Blood Bike riders are all volunteers and they do a sterling job quietly in the background while most of us are asleep through the night. Thank you to all those who’ve donated to this worthy cause.

PS: The bikes are all numbered. This one is V3. I asked what the ‘V’ stood for, and they said ‘Vampire’ – because it’s a blood bike!  Nice touch of humour.
